4 words sum up Yolanda.

Believer.  Mother.  Achiever.  Prodigious.

Yolanda is not ashamed of her faith. If you know the
Creator, you know His character, and Yolanda strives
daily to let her light shine and do her work, whatever
it may be, heartily from her soul as something done for
the Lord and not for men, although men get the
benefit. ☺

She is a mother of two beautiful children, an 8 year old
son and a 10 year old daughter. They have taught her
that regardless of how tired you are, how bad your
day is, how challenging it can be to sacrifice what you
want for them, their smiles, hugs, and words of love
are a reflection of how blessed she truly is. They are
her mirror, and she strives to do what it takes to like
what she sees.
Yolanda has been in Toastmasters for over 4 years and it is one of the things in her life aside from her
children that give her purpose and fulfill her. She loves to speak, to teach, and to learn, so you'll find her
doing speeches and sessions for many groups within Toastmasters (over 20 clubs in 2007 alone) as well as for
groups outside of Toastmasters, including the Women’s Council of Realtors, Houston Area Urban League of
Young Professionals, Houston Youth and Training Academy, and the University of Houston Honors College.

She also is a character in her own right, so Toastmasters is the perfect outlet. She's been in competitions every
year since she joined, with over a dozen 1st place finishes under her belt at both the Area level and Division
level, and a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place win at the district level. Most recently she received her most challenging
3rd place win at the Regional level, after a business trip to Malaysia. She flew in just for the competition, so it
was a rewarding win and personal best. She's a member of 4 local Toastmaster clubs throughout Houston and
the surrounding areas but loves to visit other clubs and do public speaking for groups outside of
Toastmasters.

She has branched out and began speaking professionally.  She has spoken professionally to well over 10
groups this year on time management, work/life balance, building rapport and establishing trust, and
improving your communication skills.  Her mission and her passion is helping others SHINE in all they do
professionally in their business, interacting with clients, customers, employees, co-workers and bosses; as well
